How is the increase in value in acquired property calculated?

If one of the spouses has contributed to the acquisition, improvement or protection of the property of the other spouse, without getting any benefits in return, he or she shall have the right to receive ​the RATE OF THE CONTRIBUTION for the increase in the value of this property during the liquidation. This receivable is calculated according to the value of that property at the time of liquidation. If there is a depreciation, the initial value of the contribution is taken as the basis. (art.227)
