What is an uncontested divorce?

Divorce Cases are filed in two main types. The first of these is the Uncontested Divorce Case and the second is the Contested (Uncontested) Divorce Case.

This case is filed by presenting a jointly signed protocol and a petition of one party to the court stating that both parties agree on all

the essential aspects of the divorce. Uncontested divorce cases take significantly less time to finalize than a contested case. In an uncontested divorce case, the parties must agree on all essential issues such as material compensation, moral compensation, alimony, custody and property division.
